Feet Firmly on the Ground

Large domes present an equally large challenge in their installation. Typically, workers climb on man-lifts to reach the dome's work-front. But working at heights is not always the most efficient use of labor, as reaching the work-front takes time and fall hazards are always present.

There is an efficient alternative: Geometrica lifting towers. These towers lift a dome from its center as it is being built.

Lifting with a Geometrica tower allows work to take place safely, on the ground. A single tower can lift domes weighing more than 500t.

When compared with traditional assembly using man-lifts, tower assembly reduces equipment and labor requirements. Labor is more efficient because work takes place on the ground, rather than a hundred feet up in the air. This results in faster project delivery.

The whole dome assembly process is quick and efficient. Here is the Quebrada Blanca 124m dome built recently in Chile.

For the above dome, Geometrica earned Bechtel's recognition with their Supplier Excellence Award.

In addition, the tower can also be used for ground-level assembly of longitudinal domes, offering flexibility in construction methods.
